"I heard about the European American Business Club immediately after the inaugural meeting last January, so I made it a point to attend the February meeting. I immediately embraced the concept, as it reminded me in broad lines of the International Skål Club of which I had been a member for the 20 years I lived in the Caribbean; informal networking, friendship, partying and above all non judgmental interaction. My kind of Club and an occasional trip somewhere was great too. I introduced several of my friends, who all became members, mostly because they found the Club an "interesting" group of people. I only missed one meeting since I first attended and enjoy the format much. I think the website could become more central in the networking efforts beyond the monthly meeting. I truly enjoy the outings we have done (Rivercruise and Trolley) but also think we can become a bit more structured without losing the amiable and relaxed atmosphere. I think that the initial approach we explored of exposing backgrounds gave more insight into the people than the commercial message of what they do. The website should have a "portal page for each member to populate on their business level, so we can keep the meetings completely social with just a new member introduction, birthday recognition and developing ideas and plans for future interesting get togethers."

EABC celebrates their 1 year anniversary in January 2011. This just-started-up group has grown already to around 100+ business members. In the last year, my business has received 2 contract opportunities of work from the members.
